Fast Radio Bursts

For some reason, I began writing new music pretty much every day in early 2017, and this continued through 2018 and up to today. The tracks on this EP are small collection of this material.

In the past I've used the multi-instrumental solo approach in studio, or wrote music for & played in groups, but here I've gravitated to a new sound, making all of the elements myself live, using an acoustic guitar with looping.

This stuff feels like a synthesis of many of the diverse projects I've worked on from the past, and in particular it seems to be a conversation between electronic and acoustic music.

My first goal was to be able to perform live, without using a computer on stage. After a bunch of research I got a working system together. I build up the soundscapes and do live mixing or dubbing with the sound elements. The five tracks on this EP are live mixes, made one per day over a five day period.

I try to make music that is engaging but leaves room for the listener. You may hear elements of dub reggae, ambient electronic music, and who knows what else? Let me know what comes to mind.
